Obituary for Theresa McMurray Crenshaw

Theresa McMurray Crenshaw of Bedford, Texas, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 after her long and valiant fight from metastatic breast cancer. A visitation for friends and family will be held on Saturday, May 20 between 3:00 and 5:00pm at the Forest Ridge Funeral Home Memorial Park Chapel, 8525 Mid Cities Blvd, North Richland Hills, TX 76182. A memorial service will follow on Saturday, May 27 at 2:00pm at the First Lutheran Church of Lufkin, 1001 Atkinson Dr., Lufkin, TX 75901, Pastor Frank Starr officiating.

Theresa was born in Port Arthur, Texas to Vivian (Moye) and Ralph Modisette.
Theresa was graduated from Central High School in Angelina County where she was the valedictorian of her class, and was active in athletics and academic organizations. She was awarded both BS and MS degrees in Computer Science from Stephen F. Austin University. An avid fan of Texas A&M University she was proud of the Aggie heritage in her family. Theresa was a gifted artist and quilter and had a beautiful singing voice.

Theresa was preceded in death by her father and mother, her brother Pete George Modisette of Lufkin, and first husband Danny McMurray of Lufkin.

Theresa was dearly loved by her husband Michael Crenshaw of Bedford, brother Michael Ray Modisette and wife Debbie Lamb Modisette of Lufkin, sons Bryan McMurray and wife Jessica of College Station, Douglas McMurray and wife Angela of Fort Worth and Justin McMurray of College Station. She was step-mother to Catherine Husby and husband Kirk of Grapevine, Sara LeBlanc and husband Cliff of Colleyville, Allen Crenshaw and wife Alyssa of Portland, OR, and grandmother to eight granddaughters and one grandson. She was the proud aunt to many nieces, nephews, and had many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
