Quinnie Brooks
Quinnie Joan Lindsey Brooks, 88, of Bedford, Texas passed away peacefully on Sunday,
May 7, 2017.

Quinnie is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Ray Gene Brooks,
six children: David Brooks and wife Rose, Ron Brooks and wife Gaby, Tim Brooks and wife Kay, Sandy Brooks, Teresa Mena, and Chris Brooks and wife Jeri; four grandchildren: Misty Lackey and husband Dustin, Matthew Brooks, Nicole Mena, and Nathan Mena; two great grandchildren: Trent Lackey and Quinn Lackey, her namesake; sister Betty Vezina and husband Mike; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Esther Holden Lindsey; father, James Jackson (J.J.) Lindsey; sister Dorothy Campbell; brothers: James Lindsey, David Lindsey, and John Lindsey.

Quinnie was born on May 30, 1928 in Denison, Texas. She attended St. Xavier’s Academy and after graduating worked for Kraft Foods Southwestern Division.

She met Ray in June of 1948 at a roller skating rink and six months later they were married on December 22, 1948. Together they raised six children while living in many different locations during Ray’s 20-year career in the Air Force.

Quinnie chose to focus her life on making a good home for her husband and children. She was a devoted Catholic and her love for Jesus was shown throughout her life by her love for others. Her hobby for many years was creating beautiful angels that she enjoyed giving away.

She was a sweet, devoted wife and mother. Her selfless love will be remembered by everyone.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 9th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Forest Ridge Funeral Home, 705 Airport Freeway, Hurst, Texas 76053. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church, 3713 Harwood Road, Bedford, Texas 76021,
