HURST -- Rosemary A. Mong departed this world in peace Sunday morning, September 11th, 2016. Having suffered an extended illness, her passing at 89 was heralded by the brightest sunrise and bluest sky-something she would have thankfully appreciated while here with us.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held in the chapel of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 1000 Tinker Road, Colleyville at 1:30 pm, Saturday September 24. Burial to follow immediately at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park in Colleyville. Reception is to follow at Good Shepherd Catholic Church.
Always an optimist though no stranger to suffering, Rosemary grew up in Dayton, Ohio. Having lost her father at age five and stricken with polio shortly thereafter, her life was shaped by these events. In response, she strived to make the best of things, always pushing forward, and never giving up.
A fighter despite her disability, Rosemary was always thinking of others and lived a life of generosity and kindness. She poured herself into many volunteer organizations dedicated to helping those in need. Her smile was a universal language welcoming many.
Dedicated to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, she always made time to have fun, be loud, make another loaf of bread, birthday cake, pecan pie, or teach someone to read...simply making memories.
Proceeded in death by her loving husband of 60 years in 2014, they remained deeply in love to the very end. She will be missed by her many friends and all those who had the pleasure of knowing and loving her.
She is survived by her three sons, three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews.
