Book of Memories for Sally Ann Redd

A year is a long time to me and to remember anything past this mornings breakfast is hard for me to do, but I do have fond memories of Sally. After dinner (at our awards banquet) we gathered at someones house and Sally was there, cuttin' up as usual. She was happy to be there and happy to be around new friends. Some of us met Sally for the first time and we just all seemed to be connected. We all ended up at another pit stop and of course laughed and joked. She truly found a place in my heart and I will not forget Sally. I am thankful the Lord allowed me to meet her and we were able to share our faith one night sitting downstairs at the hotel lobby. She was indeed intelligent in history and we even talked about Israel. I think she taught me more than my tour guide, and she shared her desire to go there. I know Sally has been with the Lord for a year, a year to us that is, but for her it is only a "moment." A moment is a fraction of a second from one blink to another. We will be with her again one day and we will laugh and smile and be in that moment together.

Sally was one of our very first honors graduates at TWU. I knew her well and enjoyed working with her. Such a bright and gifted person. I only just now learned of her passing, and it deeply saddens me. She was a wonderful scholar and a great human being.

I met Sally while serving on the Staff Council for Texas Woman's University. We had the opportunity to work together on a few different projects and I have to say that Sally had an amazing smile, a bold laugh, and was a force to be reckoned with when she wanted something! I will miss her dearly and keep her friends and family in my thoughts and my prayers. Christina Williams

When I was at school one day at LEMIT, I heard a song by a group called Honeybrowne for the first time. When I listened to it I loved the calmness about the music and the peacefulness it gave, but the words wouldn't quite fit my husband and I because we see each other every day and we are not apart. I listened to the song again this day and now know that this song was written for Sally because she is likely to be my Texas Angel. Songs can stay in my heart and take me back to the exact place and time, at that first dance in middle school or the first time I rocked my daughter to sleep. Sally will be especially remembered by me when I hear this song for as many years as our Lord allows me to live.....

I knew Sally but briefly during July of 2012. Unfortunately I have no knowledge of her likes or dislikes, her personal life, or her health. She was a vibrant person - like so few in the world today - possessing faith, love and charity for everyone she encountered. Sally made people she met part of her family. She cared about them, and wanted to know how they progressed through life. She had an empathy that allowed her to anticipate someone's needs, and then her goal (and her source of happiness) was to help them. She will be missed by me, and the hundreds of others she encountered. At a time such as this, I can only express my deepest sympathy to her family and friends. Who could have expected this tragic event? I am sure we will see Sally again, possibly running some program for the Lord in Heaven. Or perhaps she was simply an angel He sent to us to help, and then He recalled her for other service. I cannot adequately express my sorrow to everyone who knew her. Donald J. Willy

Sally was a good friend, always looking out for me anyway she could. I used to tease her about her choice of e-mail address when she came to work for me at TWU/LEMIT. We could always share a joke and I always knew she was there for me during hard times. She was larger than life and will always be that way in my heart.

I met Sally when I attended Mod II in 2008. She always went out of her way to help anyone and to make sure we were always taken care of. She was an instant friend and we stayed in contact even after I finished LEMIT. I was able to stop in and see her a few weeks ago and visit with her. She seemed so happy and it was great seeing her again. She will greatly missed by family, friends, and all of the law enforcement community that she came in contact with.

I only knew Sally over the last three weeks while attending LEMIT at TWU, in that short time I could see that she was a kind hearted and carring person. Her passing is a loss to the world. A place in heaven awaits her.

I met Sally while attending Module II of LEMIT and I knew I had an instant friend. Her infectious smile and warm, friendly personality helped all of us get through the class. She not onlymade a positive impact on me, but with everyone that passed through those doors for Module II. I will miss her greatly but I take comfort in knowing she is looking down from heaven and will continue to watch over the staff and many officers that will attend Module II in the future.
